From July 12–16, 2026, the Global America Business Institute (GABI) hosted students from Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS) for the 2026 Global Educational and Leadership Program in Washington, D.C.
The program provided students with a firsthand introduction to international affairs and policymaking in the U.S. capital. Through expert briefings, institutional visits, cultural activities, and discussions with professionals, participants explored U.S.–Korea relations, security, trade, energy, diplomacy, civic engagement, and global governance. BUFS President Soon-Heung Chang also joined the program and participated in discussion on U.S.–Korea nuclear energy cooperation, including opportunities to strengthen bilateral collaboration in the sector.
Students visited organizations and institutions including Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, the Korea Economic Institute of America, Capitol Hill, the World Bank, the Korean American Grassroots Conference, and the Old Korean Legation Museum. The program was designed to broaden students’ global perspectives, strengthen their understanding of Washington’s policy community, and encourage their development as future leaders in international affairs.
