This workshop brought together U.S., Korean, and Japanese experts to examine the evolving role of nuclear energy in meeting rising global and digital-age electricity needs. Discussions highlighted both the opportunities and persistent barriers to nuclear expansion, including financing challenges, cost overruns, supply chain constraints, regulatory delays, and unresolved waste management issues. Participants underscored the importance of strategic approaches that integrate commercial, security, and diplomatic considerations rather than pursuing projects on a purely transactional basis.
