The inaugural meeting of the Trilateral Nuclear Energy Dialogue took place in New Mexico. While the meetings and base of operations were located in Albuquerque, the group traveled down to Carlsbad for a site visit to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). Meeting discussions focused on such issues as the implications of the Blue Ribbon Commission Report on America’s Nuclear Future, regional and multilateral cooperation in spent fuel management, and the future of the post-Fukushima global nuclear industry.
