Nuclear technologies have become a significant focus of attention as a solution to global energy concerns.
The US has made significant policy changes to support the development of nuclear reactors as a strategy to
improve energy security, energy equity, and energy sustainability. A study in the US showed that to achieve
the deep emissions reductions goals, significant amounts of nuclear will need to be built, with advanced
nuclear representing up to 43% of the energy mix. Globally, countries are also turning to nuclear, and many
nations that have once announced phase out policies are reversing their decisions to become pro nuclear.
As industrial processes look to decarbonize, new markets will form for non‐electric applications of nuclear.
