In late August, GABI hosted a delegation of students from the Korea University-Korea Institute of Science and Technology Green School. The student delegation, which consisted of a mix of Ph.D. and Master’s students from a broad range of policy and technical disciplines, met with and had private dialogues with congressional, government, NGO, think tank, industry, and other private sector representatives, experts, and officials to discuss current trends in clean energy policy, technology, and market developments. The program was designed to complement the Green School’s unique multidisciplinary approach, which seeks to combine science and engineering research with knowledge of the policy landscape with respect to energy and the environment. As part of the program, the delegation participated in a site visit to the Covanta Fairfax Waste-to-Energy Facility.
