President Florence Lowe-Lee spoke at the Reuters Events: SMR & Advanced Reactors 2024 Conference under a session titled, “Reframing Nuclear Power: Engaging New Dialogues”. This session aimed to address pathways towards re-engaging the public to enable public awareness and support for nuclear power as nations undertake the activities and deployments necessary to meet COP28 pledges to triple global nuclear capacity. In this session, President Lowe-Lee highlighted the importance of public education and support for nuclear energy, and she emphasized the correlation between higher public understanding for nuclear and higher percentage of nuclear capacity in the energy mix. To bring nuclear into a positive spotlight for the public, the nuclear industry must focus on bringing awareness to the reliability of nuclear power and its ability to support critical infrastructures such as data centers.
