Advanced<br \/>\nnuclear technologies offer a number of innovative characteristics that allow them to be more economical<br \/>\nthan traditional large light water reactors (LWRs). Furthermore, there is a large international market for<br \/>\nexports of advanced nuclear technologies, specifically small modular reactors (SMRs). SMRs and advanced<br \/>\nreactors offer better economics and allow for non-electricity generation capabilities such as desalination<br \/>\nand hydrogen production.
