The United States has a number of international nuclear collaborations including efforts in Ukraine as well as South Korea. The United States and Ukraine are collaborating on workforce development. Clean Energy Training Centers have been established to provide regional workforce training. Joint initiatives include curriculum development, educational exchanges, and cooperative agreements supported by the U.S. Department of Energy. The United States and South Korea maintain a robust and multifaceted partnership in nuclear energy, built on decades of collaboration in research, reactor deployment, fuel cycles, and nonproliferation. Both countries possess advanced nuclear technologies and have demonstrated success in domestic and international reactor projects. Despite administrative classifications such as South Korea’s recent designation as a “sensitive country,” no operational barriers have disrupted ongoing collaboration. The alliance continues to evolve, with increasing emphasis on private-sector involvement and multilateral partnerships, positioning the U.S. and South Korea as central actors in the future of global nuclear energy.
