The first ever Trilateral Nuclear Energy Dialogue meeting to be held outside of the United States took place in the Republic of Korea. During a period of three days, participants visited various nuclear-related sites throughout Korea, including the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI), Doosan Heavy Industries, Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant, and Korea Radioactive Waste Agency (KORAD). Meetings took place at both Daejeon and Gyeongju, and broached a number of relevant issues, including recent world nuclear energy developments, advanced fuel cycles, repository siting, and policy coordination. Visits to nearby national parks and cultural sites were also a part of the meeting.
