Speaker Bio

Edward Yim, Esq., currently serves as Associate Director of Energy Policy and Compliance for Washington D.C.’s Department of the Environment. In this role, he focuses on energy policy and initiatives, court cases involving electric and natural gas utilities, and DC’s energy assurance plan. Before this post, he provided legal advice to private companies, public utilities, and municipal governments on utility, electric power, natural gas, and environmental issues. He also served the Pennsylvania legislature as legal counsel to its committee on energy and the environment, and helped draft bills related to electricity market, renewable energy portfolio standards, and environmental regulations with respect to natural gas exploration and production.
